Microsoft Build

microsoft build 2020

As Scott Hanselman Says “instead of coming to me, we’ll come to you.”

Back when i first heard of build i was still a student in 2013, at the time I was part of the Linux User group in my university JKUAT. I had just started venturing in to the Microsoft World of technologies because of Imagine Cup.

Now trust me when i say this the tickets used to sell out in a matter of hours. build used to cost roughly 3000USD.

Fast forward, I Join Microsoft in 2015 and one of my first agenda with my boss was to try convince him that i needed to go for Imagine cup but by the time he said Yes the tickets had sold out completely. Two years down the line I mange to get tickets to Microsoft Build and travel to Seattle.

For me this was a life changing opportunity as I now fully got exposed to Not only the breadth of different technologies that Microsoft engineers work on but also our Partners and other organizations do

Waiting Outside the Main hall as we listen to Seth Juarez on a Channel 9 Show

The two Days were packed with activities everything form Hands on labs, workshops, showcases, competitions and even product launches I managed to get myself a Surface Pro that I still use to date as my primary device. More than 6000 people from around the world attended build when I was there.

You cant go to build and miss out on some sessions @Scott Hanselman. I personally think he is the reason quite a number of people go to build so dont miss his session.

Have a listen to his keynote from last year.

Some of my Favorite Moments

I had the pleasure of watching two of my friends who were part of the Windows insider for good fellowship attend, speak on stage and meet Satya Nadella the Microsoft CEO.
