I have held the role since April 2025. The group was established in 2015. I run the technology.
What we build has to be useful for the insurers, the brokers and agents, and eventually the vehicle owner.
Someone on the team wanted a report to look like the industry standard. I told him that if we are going to change the way insurance works, we cannot do the same thing and expect a different result. It has to be valuable for the people who use it, not only what everyone else does because that is the way insurance works.

I was an AI expert on contract for the Joint Innovation Facility, JIF. GIZ and HAUS run the facility, under the Africa-Europe Digital Innovation Bridge, AEDIB 2.0.
The facility brings African and European businesses, innovation hubs, and research institutions together to build climate-positive and digital innovations across borders.

I led a Thought Leader workshop on product development and execution, for Global Innovation Catalyst, GIC, and the Milken-Motsepe Prize in Green Energy.
The 90-minute session was for more than 20 teams from around the world, working to speed up progress in green energy, and in Africa’s energy sector.
GIC builds and runs programmes for innovation ecosystems: curricula, mentorship, and a network. Kamran Elahian founded it.

I was a technology expert on COOPEN. I advised the startups it worked with in Kenya, including Lentera Africa.
COOPEN is an open innovation programme by Innovazione per lo Sviluppo and Cariplo Factory. It supports sustainable technology for development challenges in Africa, through partnerships between Italian civil society organisations and innovation stakeholders.
Lentera Africa is an agritech startup. It helps farmers adapt to climate change and raise their yield and income, through market linkages for selected commodities, technology-enabled farm advice, and quality inputs and equipment. The programme supported Lentera on its commercial value proposition, on entering new markets, and on preparing to scale.
